I revisited gear console area today. A few enhancements needed in this area due to “Low Option” approach adopted in assembling the 206 Bestari. What I am trying do is to replicate as close as possible to CBU 206 especially 1.4 TU3JP/KFW model. In the last DIY, I managed to fix back the missing glovebox lighting and for this time around, I will be adding in two new features which are missing in my car.

First Timer

Well…. here are some parts that I change for the first time since owning this car, March, 2009. Some of the issues has been detected earlier (more than a year ago at least) but I kept delaying it until it come to a point which I think it is a worthwhile to do it in one shot (YMMV). The first two DIY were done two weeks ago and the rest was today.

Sauna Box on Wheels

My air conditioning system was out of order on April 30th, 2012. Almost 3 years owning the lion. The system was not working at optimum level couple of months before but it was apparent on April that drove me to have a full system check after countless times the gas being refilled. Early symptom was hissing sound when switched on or off the system. Topping up the gas can only sustained for months before it decreases to weeks. At last, it can only sustained for up to 6 weeks.

Dismantling The Centre Console

Now, since I’m involving too much (very excited, 206 is much simpler than my another car which requires to remove both front doors before removing dashboard) in dismantling glove box as earlier post. Another reason is, my neighbors already started to disperse after having chats with them; politics, cars, banks, investment etc. Emm, why not continue to centre console.

Wow, it almost 11AM at this time. Started at 9:15AM. Can feel the sun burning my skin. Luckily, just sent the car for windows tint yesterday.
