Since day one, I’ve been monitor a small spot of rust at the fuel filler neck area. Since it was raining almost everyday now in Klang Valley, I need to make sure the rust stop. Need to get a proper “ointment” before it spread like a cancer… opsss cancer is slow… Like Agent Smith said “…. multiply until all the earth natural resources consumed. There is another species on earth which act the same way. It is called virus…” yeahhh…. virus is a nice term to use.

First of all, I need to have these items…

  • torx T20 driver
  • a piece of cloth
  • sand paper (I use 1000 grade)
  • rust preventer or converter
  • touch-up paint
  • small paint brush 2x
  • sunny day

Managed to get “rust converter” for RM15.50 and touch up paint for RM23.50

Another shot, from above. Note: the color code is for KIA cars but anyone who drives Quartz Blue will find the same color code in the engine

Out of three screws, only the bottom one having rust infestation. Use T20 driver to undo the screws

Sanding off all the rust and apply the rust converter. It will turn rusted area into a fine black surface ready to be painted

After applying the touch up paint

Tadaa… All done. I even sprayed all the three screws with chrome plated color

Forgive me for the quality of the pictures. It was a sunny day and I’m in a bad light angle when doing this task.
