Do It Yourself: Yes
There are two DIY done in this article. Firstly, the rear wiper and the other is just a makeover of air conditioning control panel. The rear wiper was the second DIY of the same item. It is almost the same as the previous DIY but this time I’m using other brand as the subsitute.
I’ve been looking around for better pricing part to replace my ageing rear wiper. Authorized service centre will quote around RM65 for an original part. Pricing from spare part shop is around RM40. The only issue with it is the rubber blade part but the plastic assembly is still in good shape. Previous DIY, I used an al-cheepo rubber blade but for this time I’m looking for a better alternative.
After scouring around, finally, I found the best alternative part for it. It was Bosch made, 14 inch wiper and it cost me RM25.
Next, I received a replacement part for my A/C panel a week ago. Actually, there is nothing wrong with my panel, it just that I need a fresh look of its appearance.
The part is just to replace the three control knobs. It came with a complete, step by step instruction but it easier on it than done. In fact, I need to dismantle the whole panel to get it done because of the original knobs is a bit hard to pull it out. In doing so, you might break the knob or chip the paint. Anyway, here are some of the pictures taken after the mod. I’m sorry, I did not capture any photo during the DIY coz I was in hurry to get it done. The step is almost the same as changing the A/C panel light bulb. I did posted an article about it during my air conditioning DIY.
